GiftStumped!

Wow! My silk scarves are being featured on GiftStumped.com!

Ok..ok... I surfed the web, came across their site, and "suggested" that they visit my site.
And --- "they liked me... they really liked me!"

Well my wearable works of art that is.
Here is a quote from GiftStumped:

Honestly, my first thought was “do I want to review scarves?” Interesting enough? Unique enough?
But, after taking a look, I:

1. Saw how beautiful the scarves are
2. Realized how unique they really are
3. Thought that they would make lovely gifts for women & women who are
art lovers
4. Noticed that Dee can make
custom pieces for you
5. Decided that I was late in getting a Mother’s Day gift idea post out (although we do have a nice list of
Mother’s Day Gift Ideas on the site)

......If you do purchase something from Dee for this Mother’s Day, you will also have a nice story to tell Mom about how you found a cute site called GiftStumped and found unique, hand-painted scarves created by an artist in Toronto. She just doesn’t need to know you almost waited until the last minute!

I would like to thank GiftStumped, for this great opportunity!

Bikini Booty Camp

Totally off topic! I really enjoy going to the gym and working out. However, as the weather gets warm.... going indoors to get my workout on is not my idea of fun. I went to an exhibition and I came across BIKINI BOOTY CAMP. No... I won't be sporting a bikini around town, but working towards being fit in a group setting OUTDOORS seems like fun!

The workouts are with 19 other women for one hour. You can view it on Youtube. I start May 6/08 (twice a week). I will update you on the Booty Camp, as I go along/

Fall Colours 2008

Well the good news is that Summer is just around the corner.... The bad news is that I am half way through completing my Fall 2008 collection!

Pantone Inc has released the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Fall 2008 featuring the top 10 women's fashion colors that we are likely to be wearing later this year.

According to the report, the fall '08 palette is best described as a season of change and is defined by rich, elegant hues that offer a vibrant selection. New York's fashion designers emphasize cooler blues, greens and purples in the top five tones used in their collections, followed by variations of warm red, orange and yellow.

Pantone is the most widely recognized color standard in the world, and is used as a tool for the fashion industry. Every year at New York Fashion Week it surveys designers and collects feedback on the most prominent color collections.

So far I have incorporated the blues, jade, and mustard. I am looking forward to the addtion of shades of red, and I can't wait to see what happens when I add my own interpretation to the colour brown.

Stay tuned!
The Blue Hues
Blue Iris - This is Pantone’s color of the year for 2008, according to their report. A rich beautiful blue with purple undertones. Combining the regal richness of purple with cool and calming aspects of blue.

Royal Lilac - Dramatic Royal Lilac is a combination of bluish purples and cheerful red undertones. undertones.

Shady Glade -It provides a willing companion to shady glade, a mossy green base color.

Caribbean Blue -Evokes memories of tropical vacations which adds intensity to its color companions.

Twilight Blue - Twilight Blue is a twist on a classic navy, a strong, powerful steady color.

The Red Hues

Aurora Red - Reds and purples are a keynote combination for Fall 2008.

Withered Rose - Moving on to dusky brownish pinks, Withered Rose blends with almost any shade.

Burnt Orange - Powerful and robust, Burnt Orange is subtle enough to be worn by most skin tones, but steady enough to be a backdrop and strong enough to be at the fore front of an outfit.

Ochre - Adding a touch of lightness traditional autumnal color is Ochre with a hint of mustard against mellow yellow.
Understated Shitake
Shitake - "The color of a Japanese mushroom, this complex yet modest shade is intriguingly understated," states the Pantone report, "especially when teamed with the robust colors of fall" '08.

The Color Purple - Prominent in Fall Designer Collections

A La Grace Kelly

Named for the famous American actress-turned-Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly, this method of wearing a scarf was used to protect the hair-style and still look glamorous while traveling.

Scarf Style Needed: Square Scarf Tying the Scarf:

Take the square scarf and fold it diagonally from one corner to its opposite.
Place the scarf over the head with the folded edge facing forward. Bring the folded corners down under the chin and cross them, pushing the points back around the neck on each side.
In the back of the neck, gather the folded corners and tie them together, making sure to catch the loose corners of the scarf under the knot being formed.
Leave the ends loose, or tuck them under as you prefer. Add a pair of tortoise-shell sunglasses and you'll be ready to slip past the paparazzi.
(Note: The Kelly can also be performed using the rectangular (or oblong) scarf for those times when you want to add more flair to the look.) THE LIST MAVEN

Our Trip to Jamaica '08

My husband and I decided to go back to Jamaica, a year after we got married there on the beach. We felt that it would be better to go during the cold wintery month of February, instead of our anniversary in May. It was beautiful! No one knew that we were making our way down. We totally surprised his parents, and the rest of the family. Here are some pics..... and of course... I am sportin' my DeeBozzz Silk Scarves!

Hmmm..... Very Interesting...

You know, there are many interesting articles on scarves! I think I am going to create a list of them. Check back often. I will have a link titled "Articles", so it will be easy to find.

Enjoy!

As I walk down the streets of Toronto I am beginning to notice more and more women wearing scarves. In the past the scarf was an accessory that was completely overlooked. This season, the scarf is now the new and improved must-have accessory......
Easy as 1, 2, 3. First fold your scarf in half, then wrap around your neck and pull the loose ends through the looped end. Voila!...
