Navy Daisy

I had offered this as a silk oblong scarf in my collection last year. Recently, a customer ordered it as an 18"x72" shawl. After painting it in this larger size, I am thinking this stunning accessory desrves to stay. It will also be available in the size of 9"x54".

Just sent out 3 Silk Shawls to The Art Institute of Chicago. This is a great example of Scarves being a great transitional accessory.

AIC viewed my Spring 2010 line, and decided that maybe a few of them could be considered for this Fall. These are the shawls that they had requested. Wish me luck!

Getting Tropical

Ooooooo.... We are expecting a snowstorm this afternoon. After painting these two scarves last night, I started feeling very tropical. Sigh --- I am envisioning myself on a cruise vacation just about now...

Citron Tropix

Sage Tropix

They are shown here in the size 8"x54". They are also available in the size of 18"x72"

Scarves Tied in Spring 2010 RTW

Well I was going to title this post "Scarves are Back!". Looks like they never left. Silk, gauzy and flowy scarves were a staple last year. This season, designers decided to maintain this versatile trend.

So Square

This geometric square design is hand painted on a silk jacquard. I love the way the woven pattern gives my painted design an added punch. The colours available are lime and rust.

So Transparent

These are my new silk chiffon shawls. Unlike my other silk scarves and wraps, I have added metallic paint to these particular patterns. The sparkle from the paint adds a bit of "pop" to the softness of these accessories. These Spring items, are available in the sizes of "22x72" wrap, and 8"x54" neckerchief.

17"x72" Silk Crepe Shawls

I know - Spring is usually about soft hues. But I love to turn heads wearing bright contrasting colours. This style has shades of black, turquoise and rhododendron.

Or how about stealing attention this summer in warm stripe hues? Wear this crepe shawl shown in the warm colours of gold and mahogany.

Save these accessories for Spring

I Came across this article by Lindsey Michelle
the Shoes & Accessories Feature Writer for Suite101.

Lindsey comments about scarves for Spring 2010 "The amount of women wearing scarves during summer 2009 proved that it’s an easy trend to follow. So while gauzy, lightweight scarves may be put on hold until the weather warms up, they’re definitely worth saving for next spring.

The versatility of scarves is also appealing. If not worn around the next, they can also be used as a belt in a pair of jeans or tied around hair, as a headband or ponytail holder."

Check out her online article to find out which other accessories will be key for this upcoming Spring.

Prepping for 2010

This weekend I officially began to organize for 2010. I checked out the "hot" colours for Spring 2010 -- turquoise is flaming hot. I made a list of dyes to buy at G&S Dyes and bought them today.

I grouped my dyes, metallic paint and paint brushes. There is much more to do, but I am glad I got started.
